Why is it good for me?

Dance can help to improve your posture, balance, flexibility, core strength, leg strength, and physical coordination.

Music and dance are great stress relievers, and can help to boost your confidence. You’ll also pick up some fantastic new moves you can show off on the dance floor!

Depending on the intensity of the class, it can also be a great way to get your blood pumping and keep your heart healthy.

The less obvious benefits are to your memory, as you memorise short sequences during the class, and to your musical sense.

How much does it cost?

Cost varies between schools and classes. Find one near you and ask about their rates.

Dance fitness costs from around £5 per class and many instructors offer loyalty schemes, so you might get your 10th class free.

If you are taking part in your local gym or leisure centre ask them about their membership packages, these are generally better value for money if you are planning to attend two or more classes a week or want to go for a swim or hit the gym too.

What equipment do I need?

Comfortable clothes and depending on what dance - a pair of shoes (i.e. tap shoes or ballet pumps).
