Snowsports
The word Snowsport conjures up images of mountains, holidays and having fun with friends and families.
The sport offers so much more. For a start there are many different sports within this sport! There are also many different ways people can participate.
Skiing and snowboarding are fantastic for your physical and mental health and wellbeing and can be enjoyed by everyone – no matter what your age or ability.
Why is it good for me?
Snowsports are a great cardiovascular work out, which can help to improve your coordination, balance, strength and agility.
How much does it cost?
Beginners lessons start from around £30 for 6 hours instruction and usually include board/skis, boots, slope entry and anything else you need to get started.
Once you’ve completed your beginners course, you’re free to hit the slope whenever you feel like it! Slope passes start from around £5, but vary between slopes.
What equipment do I need?
To get going, you’ll need some sturdy trousers, a long sleeved top, a warm jumper if you’re indoors, and gloves. The rest of the equipment can be hired.
If you want to invest in your own kit, talk to a local snowports retailer or ask an instructor at your slope.
Getting started
Whether you're an absolute beginner learning to ski or learning to snowboard for the first time, want to improve ready for an upcoming holiday to the mountains, or an experienced snowsport enthusiast just wanting to re-live your time on the ski slopes, one of the best ways to get involved in snowsports in the UK is through GO SKI GO BOARD.
