Active Cumbria's Commitment to Safeguarding
Our two policy statements highlight our Duty of Care that every person who is involved in sport and physical activity should be able to participate in an enjoyable and safe environment and be protected from abuse.
Active Cumbria has achieved the advanced level in the standards for safeguarding and protecting children in sport. The Partnership is now striving ahead to implement the new Framework for safeguarding children and young people through sport.
We are committed to promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people engaged in sporting activities locally which is outlined in detail in our Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy.
In addition to safeguarding children and young people, we have a responsibility and are committed to safeguarding the welfare of adults at risk involved in sport and physical activity in Cumbria. All adults are entitled to protection from harm and have the right to take part in sport and physical activity in a safe, positive and enjoyable environment.
