Environmental Sustainability

Supporting our partners to be Environmentally Sustainable

We recognise that creating a more sustainable future requires collective action. Through our Environmental Sustainability Action Plan (ESAP), we are committed to supporting clubs and our project partners to understand, reduce and manage the environmental impact of their activities. By working collaboratively, we aim to embed sustainability into the planning and delivery of projects, helping to ensure that environmental responsibility is considered at every stage.

We will use the ESAP to encourage and support our partners to adopt more sustainable practices, share knowledge and resources, and identify practical opportunities to reduce their environmental footprint. This may include promoting sustainable travel, reducing waste, using resources responsibly and considering environmental impacts when planning and delivering activities. We will also seek to raise awareness of environmental sustainability across our partnerships, encouraging the sharing of good practice and supporting partners to make informed, environmentally conscious decisions.

We recognise that our partners will be at different stages of their sustainability journey, and we aim to provide encouragement, guidance and opportunities for collaboration that reflect their individual circumstances. By working together, sharing learning and celebrating progress, Active Cumbria hopes to create a network of partners who are empowered to take meaningful environmental action and contribute towards a healthier, more sustainable Cumbria.

Support for clubs and physical activity providers.

In addition to Active Cumbria there are other organisations who can help support clubs and physical activity providers to become environmentally sustainable.
