The Reconditioning Fund

Active Cumbria secured investment from Public Health England to help meet the aims of Live Longer Better in Cumbria. The Reconditioning Fund was launched in November 2022 and is a source of funding to achieve the goals of Live Longer Better in Cumbria.

Any interested applicants will be invited to complete the Live Longer Better eLearning programme devised by Sir Muir Gray with Learning with the Experts:

On completion of the eLearning, Active Cumbria officers will work with local providers to identify suitable projects to recondition Older Adults, primarily those who live in the priority places identified in our Implementation Plan, as well as others that will reach a wider audience too. Deployment of the fund will run to coincide with the end of our 5 year strategic plan in 2026.

Investment will also be made into training and development of health professionals and physical activity and movement providers in relation to the benefits of activity (physical, cognitive and emotional) for Older Adults as well as tackling ageism.

There will be no further windows of application to the Reconditioning Fund as the fund has been fully utilised.
