Exercise is the miracle cure we have always had, but for too long too many of us have neglected to take our recommended dose. Support the older adults you work with to move more, more often and help them enjoy the health benefits of a more active life, no matter how old they might be. It is never too late to regain and improve your fitness.

Having Active Conversations
A 2017 survey of 1,000 GPs found that:
- 80% of GPs in England are unfamiliar with the national physical activity guidelines
- less than half (44%) are confident in raising physical activity with patients
- over half (55%) had done no specific training on physical activity

Walks to Live Longer Better!
Active Cumbria has supported the Hiking Household to develop a series of six walking maps to help make it easier for people to get started and enjoy walks on their doorstep. The project has been funded through The Reconditioning Fund - a funding source which supports our Live Longer Better in Cumbria programme. Maps available in the series include:
- Petteril Valley, Carlisle
- Pategill, Penrith
- Vulcans Park, Workington
- The Whitehaven to Ennerdale Cycle Path, Cleator Moor
- Lightburn Park, Ulverston
- Barrow Park, Barrow-in-Furness
