Winners have been crowned at the prestigious Cumbria Sports Awards at a celebratory evening for those who make a difference in the world of sport around the county.

The awards were held on Thursday, April 16 at Energus in Workington with hundreds attending to honour our local sporting superstars.

Sponsored by Fibrus, a full fibre broadband company committed to supporting Cumbrian grassroots sports, the Cumbria Sports Awards are organised by Newsquest Cumbria in partnership with Active Cumbria.

Richard Johnston, Senior Manager presented the award for our sponsored category Volunteer of the Year (in memory of our colleague Becky Underwood) to Jamie Humes.
