First Live Longer Better in Cumbria Annual Report is Published

August 14, 2024

Since its launch event at Energus, Workington, in November 2022, the Live Longer Better in Cumbria programme has gone from strength to strength.

Based on learning and principles from the national Live Longer Better Programme led by Sir Muir Gray, this month sees the publication of its first annual report. The report captures both an overview of the activity that has happened as well as action plans for the next 12 months, illustrated by case studies from both programme and project work. Both quantitative and qualitative data are considered under the 4 pillars of the programme, namely Educate, Activate and Enable, and Network.

Clare Paling Active Cumbria Development Officer and Programme Lead says “I am excited to share the report with everyone who has engaged with the programme so far, be that through the free eLearning we have shared, through signing up for our monthly newsletter or through any of the Reconditioning Fund projects that have been funded.

"So much has happened, I am hopeful that the report will give a flavour of how we have worked to bring people on board with the revolution as well as some idea of what might follow on from this first year of activity.

"We are also busy planning our mid-point event for Spring next year where we are keen to keep finding more ways to get more older people more active, working with partners to learn and develop how we support that activity.

"There is lots more to be done.”
