Resource boxes of sport equipment, weekly challenges and DVDs for local vulnerable families. This promotes positive, active family interaction, gives families a reason to get outdoors and make use of open spaces such as parks & beaches and improve their overall health.
This is a legacy project that plants the seeds for an active and healthier future for all families working with Women's Community Matters.
The boxes were delivered via doorstep checks, along with hot food delivery and support.
Rachel, Support Worker;
‘Feedback from clients suggested that the active boxes was the ONLY thing that got their children out of their homes.
We will be rolling it out at the start of every summer school break as a lot of our families do not have money for days out , holidays etc , but the equipment encouraged active, outdoor in the local community
