PAUSE Cumbria

Project Title: PAUSE Cumbria – Physical Activity Support

Funding Received: £1906 (Phase 4: 1 April 22 - 31 March 23)

Project Outline:

Pause, work with women who have experienced – or are at risk of experiencing – children removed from their care more than once and offer an intensive, trauma-informed model of support to women, so the removal of a child should never have to happen more than once.

Women who work with Pause do not have the spare income to spend on physical activity equipment  with the nature of the group. Much of the work with the women across the initial 6 months of each programme is on an individual basis rather than in groups due to their vulnerabilities. However, service users will be brought together into small groups as and when deemed suitable by supporting staff, initially to engage in walks.

The core aspect of this project will support the purchasing of equipment for women to use within their home/accommodation. The equipment listed below has been highlighted as kit that the women would make use of to engage in physical activity at home which will ultimately improve their physical and mental health. All women will be provided with a resource to support getting physically active at home.
