It's that time of year again when we ask you to nominate your sporting heroes, this year is an extra special event as the 40th annual Cumbria Sports Awards.
On the evening of the awards, we'll be taking a walk down memory lane as we catch up with some of our previous winners.
The event will take place on Friday 29th November 2019 at the Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa, Windermere.

This award is presented to the individual (aged under 18 on 31 December 2019) who has had the finest sporting achievement throughout the year, include details of the event, the date and result where possible.
Please provide as much information as possible regarding specific successes achieved during the course of the year.

Three young athletes (aged under 18 on 31 December 2019) will be awarded Rising Star Awards to recognise their sporting achievements or potential. Please be specific regarding achievements, including details of venues, competitions, dates etc. Please use the Junior Sports Personality of the Year category to make these nominations.

This award will be presented to the junior team (aged under 18 on 31 December 2019) who have had the finest achievement throughout the year. Please be accurate with regard to the competition, is it a schools based event, a national governing body competition, please also be specific with the dates and venues.

This award will be presented to the team who have had the finest achievement throughout the year. Please be accurate with regard to the level of competition or league participated in, Please also be specific with the dates and venues.

This award will be presented to the individual or team with a recognised disability who has achieved the best single performance during the year. Please be specific to the category of disability, the level of competition, and also the results achieved. It would also be useful to provide details of dates and venues.

This award will be presented to an individual who has delivered and achieved exceptional impact through coaching this year. Please provide details on the current level of coaching qualification held. You must provide information on the impact achieved during the year, which may be linked to results or to improvements in results achieved by the individual or team being coached. Please be specific with regard to these results or achievements.

This award will be given to the individual who has given the greatest contribution to a club, performer, community group, or school this year. Please note that this award only relates to activities undertaken during the last year. Long service is recognised in the Service to Sport category. Please be specific about the activities undertaken during the year and also about the impact their actions have had.

This award will recognise leadership skills shown by young people volunteering in sport during the nomination period, be it within or outside of the school setting. Nominees must be aged under 20 on 31 December 2019. Please be specific about the impact the young person has made to their sporting setting, and also provide details of the range of activities undertaken.

This award will be presented to acknowledge dedicated service to sport in Cumbria, regardless of time. Please be specific with regard to the longevity of involvement, the roles undertaken and the impact this has had on the delivery of sport in the club, league, governing body, school or other setting affected.

This award recognises the club or group that is providing exceptional sporting opportunities for their local community. Please be specific about the numbers involved, the impact it is having on its members, and how it is increasing levels of physical activity.

This award will be presented to the individual or team who has had the best single performance during the year. Please be specific about the success achieved and the competition it was achieved in. Please provide dates, venues, scores etc.

This award will be given to the school, college or university that can demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality physical activity and sporting opportunities for all pupils through a wide range of curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities.
