Bowls

Bowls truly is the sport for all - all ages, all sexes and all abilities.

It is a game that takes just seconds to learn - and the rest of your bowling career to master. With more than 2,500 clubs across England, there's bound to be one near to you. And bowls is a relatively cheap game compared to other sports, whether you choose to join a club or 'pay and play' at your local park. You will find below a basic introduction to the sport, but for more information contact your nearest club.

 Just Bowl

Just Bowl is a Bowls Development Alliance programme and is an exciting new way to get into Bowls, "For anyone, anytime, anywhere".  Featuring a range of colourful equipment adaptable to any situation and ability, it really is a great way to begin to learn about the game.

To support the Just Bowl project Active Cumbria have 4 sets of equipment that can be loaned to local organisations for a 6 week period, a member of the team will also come an deliver a short training session introducing the equipment and showing how it can be used.  In return for this you would need to complete a simple monitoring form and that's it!  If your organisation wished to continue playing the game the Bowls Development Alliance have worked closely with suppliers to provide high quality equipment at the best prices.

If this is something your organisation is interested in being part of please contact Becky Underwood Tel 07717 586430 Email becky.underwood@cumbria.gov.uk for more information.
