12th January 2012

There are still places available for team/players to take part in the upcoming indoor social touch at Whitehaven's St-Benedicts school. The event will be starting on Thursday 19th January 2012 and will be running on consecutive weeks from 7-9pm for anywhere between 5 and 10 weeks.

Squads can be made up of a maximum of 10 players. The games will be 5 a side with unlimited substitutions made. Each team will be asked to pay a fee of £2 to cover the hall costs, but it will be open for anyone to turn up and play if they have a team or not. Players must be over 16 but don't need any past rugby experience.

Touch Rugby League is good for fitness, toning and being active without visiting the gym; it's also a great social game which you can play with your friends.

It's simple and easy to learn, and there is no tackling involved like in the full contact game, a simple touch constitutes as a play the ball so there is minimal risk of injury.

This would be an excellent opportunity for clubs to get involved for their pre season training, which would lead nicely into the start of their summer season.

If you are interested in entering the league please confirm with RFL League for All Officer, Matt on 07775022799 or matt.jefferson@rfl.uk.com .
