BBC Unsung Hero Award 2011

The BBC's Sports Unsung Hero Award, now in its ninth year, seeks to reward those who dedicate their life to sport in their local areas for no monetary gain. It could be the person who cuts the grass, helps coach the team, or cleans the clubhouse.

Start thinking about the deserving person in your club or community who gives up their time, quietly goes about the club's business, does those jobs that no one else wants to do and never complains!

A winner is chosen in each BBC English Region and in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Winners from each region go forward to compete for the overall award to be presented live at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year show 2011.
