May is National Walking Month and this year organisers Living Streets are not only asking you to get out walking every day - they also want you to help build a picture of how walkable our streets are.
A number of ways for you to get involved this National Walking Month:
- #TRY20 - Take a 20-minute walk every day throughout May and feel the benefits. Living Streets have prepared fun tips to keep you on your feet the whole month. Don't forget to track your walking using the Workplace Challenge website, app or connect your Fitbit to automatically keep track of all your walking.
- RATE YOUR WALK - Use the online tool to tell Living Streets how good - or not so good - your walk is. Explore your streets and help paint a picture of how walkable they are. If you come across any potholes or dodgy pavements, these can also be registered here>>
- ACTIVE 10 - A daily brisk 10 minute walk can make you feel better, more energetic and improve your mood. Over time it can also help lower the risk of serious illnesses like heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Use Public Health Englands latest app which shows how much brisk walking you do throughout the day, and get tips and encouragement on how to fit ten minute bursts of brisk walking into your day. more>>
- LOCAL WALKS - Check out the opportunities on our walking pages>>
