Bike Week 2022

May 30, 2022

This year’s bike week is all about the benefits that cycling can bring to communities, so we want you to be part of ours!

We would love to fill our Twitter feed with photos and videos that show how much your staff, students, and wider school community enjoy cycling. Whether they’re just learning to use their wheels, or they’re a long time pro, we want to see the evidence! And we know that cycles come in lots of different shapes and sizes, so let’s celebrate everyone’s cycling experience.

Photos/videos needn’t be taken on the journey to school (although these are very welcome), they don’t even have to feature people. Here are a few things you might consider capturing:

  • Photos of your school cycle storage looking nice and full
  • Kids/parents/teachers who are cycling to school / enjoying using their cycles
  • Taking part in Bikeability
  • Video clip telling us what you love about cycling
  • Video clip showing off cycle skills.

Be as creative as you like, but please do keep any videos to a maximum of 45 seconds and use landscape orientation for both photos and videos.

The easiest way to share your images with us is to post them on Twitter and tag @ActiveTravelCCC, or you can email them to jodie.laird@cumbria.gov.uk and mandy.bailey@cumbria.gov.uk. Please note that images will be shared on social media.

Everyone who takes part will be entered into a prize draw and we will select one winner from across each of Cumbria’s six districts.

Bike Week takes place from 6 – 12 June so to be entered into our draw please share/email your images by 6pm on Sunday 12th June.
