Active Cumbria Marks 10-Year-Partnership With New Balance
May 8, 2024
Active Cumbria and New Balance are celebrating a ten-year-partnership which has enabled more people across the county the opportunity to be physically active.
Over the last decade the grant has enabled a number of different interventions. This year the grant has supported the development of the physical activity workforce providing a range of needs led training, learning, networking, and support opportunities for those working in the sport and physical activity sector, and with under-represented groups. It also supported the delivery of a large-scale conference for teachers and PE Leads, attended by around 100 delegates. The funding has also enhanced provision of sporting events for less active children and those with SEND and disabilities through the development of four new sporting festivals as part of the Cumbria School Games.
Active Cumbria Senior Manager for Operations Richard Johnston said “We are thrilled to be marking a ten-year partnership with New Balance and the New Balance Foundation. Our values and mission align so well and over the last ten years thanks to New Balance we have been able to provide even more opportunities for people across Cumbria to be physically active.”
To mark the partnership the Active Cumbria New Balance workwear has been branded with a special 10-year partnership logo.
Cumberland Council (Active Cumbria) has received a GlobalGiving grant made in partnership with ImpactAssets. More information about the New Balance Foundation can be found here https://www.newbalance.co.uk/new-balance-foundation/about-us.html
