Activity levels amongst women workers in Cumbria are on the rise, according to statistics released today by Active Cumbria. Greater awareness of women’s sport and activity is being hailed as a factor in driving increased participation, as the number of women signing up to take part in Workplace Challenge activities has risen.
Workplace Challenge (www.workplacechallenge.org.uk) is designed to motivate people to get active in and around the workplace. Activity points for sport, activity and active travel are recorded online and the nationwide leaderboard means participants can compete, virtually, with friends and colleagues, or even as a team against other workplaces across England.
