Congratulations to the Cumbria Wheelchair Sports Club (Carlisle Panthers), who have won the National Division 1 Basketball title!
Several members of the team are now tipped to represent Team Great Britain.
Panthers 57-49 London Titans
In the final, a thrilling first quarter saw the Panthers edge out the opening 10 minutes by 8-7.
The second quarter saw both teams capitalise in the key, but it was the Panthers who continued to push ahead to a 29-20 lead at half time.
The third quarter saw the teams earn 17 points apiece in an end to end battle: the Carlisle side therefore leading London by 46-37 with just 10 minutes left on the clock.
A fantastic final quarter then ensued, the GLL & Aspire London Titans fighting back to take the 10 minutes by 12-11; but it was, the Carlisle Panthers who earned the Division 1 title with a 57-49 victory.

Ray McBride, Chairman of Cumbria Wheelchair Sports Council said 'This is a huge achievement for the club, we have been on the go for about 6 years now, we now have sattelite clubs across Cumbria attracting lots of youngsters to the sport.
