Penrith Leisure Centre will unveil a new soft play area for children aged ten years and under on Monday 29th June.
Jungle Jack’s Adventure Soft Play Area will have all the fun of the jungle with walkways, tunnels and slides, plus a separate area for toddlers. Open every day from 9am to 6pm, Jungle Jack’s will also be available to hire for birthday parties. Café @ Leisure has been extended and given a fresh new menu, to cater for both soft play and non-soft play customers.
The new facility has been funded by Eden District Council at a cost of £55,000, which includes the soft play area, new café furniture and additional signage within the leisure centre. The supply and installation of the soft play is being undertaken by SoftBrick and works which commenced on 16th June are scheduled to be completed for the official opening on 29th June. The council wishes to advise customers that there may be some temporary inconvenience within the foyer area whilst works proceed.
Councillor Michael Slee, Communities Portfolio Holder for Eden District Council says, “The council is looking forward to the opening of the soft play facility and anticipates that it will attract a new range of customers to the leisure centre. Jungle Jack’s Soft Play will be a vibrant and exciting addition to the facilities already on offer at Penrith Leisure Centre which we hope will encourage play and physical activity for young people.”
Ian White, Chair of NCL Eden Board adds, “We are absolutely delighted that NCL is able, with the support of Eden District Council, to further enhance the range of activities at Penrith Leisure Centre. This continues what we have been able to achieve since taking over the contract in 2012.”
