Go Canoeing welcomes the addition of Platty + and Windermere Outdoor Adventure Centre as the latest centres to Achieve Activities Quality Mark Go Canoeing Quality Mark.
They join Windermere Canoe and Kayak to offer guided tour opportunities on two totally different settings on Windermere, the longest lake in England and Derwentwater in the north of the Lake District National Park.
Visitors can also take to the water by hiring canoes, kayaks or stand up paddleboards, attend Go Canoeing Starter sessions or improver courses at these Activities Quality Mark centres.
Why not take up the challenge of completing three tours of the lakes by booking with all 3 providers to enjoy the panoramic views.
Platty + is situated at the south end of Derwentwater, and offers a range of opportunities from Viking Sailing Boats, dragon boats, a traditional voyageur canoe and a Stand up Paddle Board that can hold up to eight adults.
Windermere Outdoor Adv Centre is on the North side of Bowness and offers a range of tours in this locality, a journey up the Troutbeck estuary with some bush craft skills thrown in. They also offer canoe/kayak hire, improver courses and personal performance awards as well as other Watersports.
Windermere Canoe and Kayak has been with Go Canoeing for longer and has fine tuned their guided tour offer. They also support National Go Canoeing Week with their 1 and 3 mile challenges at their Fellfoot hire venue. Their tours explore some of the islands located around Ferry Nab including Belle Island. The centre also offers improver courses and canoe hire at both Ferry Nab and Fellfoot National Trust centre.
The Lake District attracts 16.4million visitors annually to enjoy the outdoors and its spectacular scenery, wildlife and culture. From the tours you will get fantastic views of the mountains; Blencathra, and Catbells, and valleys of Borrowdale while in the south, the views across to the Langdales and Hellvellyn range or the tranquil waters of Fellfoot and islands just a short paddle from Ferry Nab.
