Cumbrian Girls Can

This Summer

‘This Summer’ is a localised campaign from the Cumbrian Girls Can partnership utilising This Girl Can and the draw of the summer months to reach out to women. Summer is the perfect season to spend a little more time outside and to be more active, the  busy nature of modern life means that its often difficult to fit physical activity into our days, we’re asking women #ThisSummer to:

  • Try something new
  • Achieve a goal
  • Do something consistently, or
  • Have an adventure

Below, you will find a range of resources to take part in the campaign, including a campaign information pack, images for social media, a range of selfie frames donning This Girl Can sayings, a pledge card and a twibbon for social media.

Free Workshops to help you to help women be more active

These workshops provide the opportunity to increase skills in encouraging, supporting and inspiring women to be more active.

We would love a mixed group of participants to get involved! We will be running the programme in Whitehaven, Workington and Maryport, facilitated by Health Hopes. You might be a member of a community group, an employee, a sports coach or want to encourage friends or family to try something new or be more active.

This is a funded pilot project, so there is no cost to you. However we would like to know why you would like to do the workshops, and we would love to find out whether you are using anything you picked up afterwards.
