Islanders Dance Troupe support young people living within areas of deprivation in Barrow district including Walney and Barrow Island offering subsided Dance lessons for low income families. 

Unfortunately, the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic and the lock down measures impacted on the Islanders Dance Troupe ability to continue with no income from Dance shows and a reduction in membership numbers (down by 50%).

These factors along with the fact that delivery must now take place in much smaller groups to comply with social distancing restrictions is had a huge impact on Islanders Dance Troupe income.

Islanders Dance Troupe have continued to support delivery throughout the pandemic offering Food parcels to families and continuing delivery of Dance lessons across 3 venues in a Covid secure manner supporting 72 young people to remain physical active. 

Now due to the funding received, the Islanders can continue to operate and working in our local communities ensuring young people stay active.
