Kendal Snowsports Club will open its doors to the public next Saturday as part of a national roadshow aimed at inspiring people to take up snowsports and create excitement about skiing and snowboarding ahead of the winter season.
30 Days of Snowsport, run by National Governing Body Snowsport England, is running at snow centres and slopes across the country and Kendal Snowsports Club, which is located in the heart of Kendal, is welcoming people of all ages to head to the slope for their open day on Saturday 31 October which includes FREE ski and snowboard taster sessions.
The day is perfect for families and friends who want to get some insight into snowsports and get a taste of what skiing and snowboarding is all about. For those who want to give it a go, the fully qualified and friendly instructors will be giving free 45-minute beginner taster sessions in both skiing and snowboarding all day from 10am - 4pm. Kendal Snowsports Club are asking people who take up the free taster session to give a £2 donation to the Nepal fund.
As well as skiing and snowboarding, there will be a sizzling BBQ for everyone to tuck into, music and existing club members can bring a friend for free. Also in attendance will be Snowsport Ambassador and English Alpine Ski Squad racer Francesca Lee, who will be doing a Q+A session and meet and greet for young skier.
Taster lessons will last 30 minutes and are open to all ages. Those wanting to give it a go will need to wear a long sleeved top and gloves. All ski and snowboard equipment is provided free of charge by the club.
