Bentham Golf Club has had a fantastically successful run of events recently including The Big Curry feast for The Soldiers Charity and a number of popular coffee mornings.
Isabel Marshall, manager of Bentham Golf Club, said ‘It’s fantastic to see all the members, locals and visitors to Bentham getting behind these fantastic charities and having fun whilst they raise so much money! We’re really pleased that we’ve managed to contribute to 4 worthwhile charities this year; Breast Cancer Now (£240), Macmillan cancer charity (£120), The Soldiers Charity (£600) and The North West Air Ambulance (£200+).’
Bronagh McManus from The Soldiers Charity said ‘We are so grateful for their hard work. The £600 raised at their Big Curry Feast will go a long way. This total will help at least 2 soldiers go through employment related training after they leave the Army. This training will help them stay in employment and will decrease the risk of homeless.’
More events are being planned for 2016 so watch this space! The club are aiming to surpass this total next year.
