Active Cumbria is joining over 500 organisations to share their support for the #iwill campaign
Between 21st-25th November, Active Cumbria is supporting the #iwill campaign to increase opportunities for young people to make a difference in their communities through campaigning, fundraising or volunteering. Active Cumbria have pledged #iwill to support this growing movement to make youth social action a part of normal life for more 10-20 year-olds around the UK. Youth social action is defined as ‘young people taking practical action in the service of others to create positive change’.
We want you to join a UK-wide celebration of the impact young people are making and to enable others, young and old, to get involved. We are asking #iwill supporters to highlight the benefits of youth social action through new and existing events and activities during #iwillWeek
Charlotte Hill, CEO of Step Up To Serve, the charity which coordinates the #iwill campaign says: “We are delighted that Active Cumbria has pledged to support our work, and today is sharing their progress to inspire others to take part also. If we are to make involvement in social action the norm for 10-20 year-olds we need partners to commit to tangible actions just as they are doing. The involvement of Active Cumbria will undoubtedly help us progress towards our challenging goal.’
