A major aspect of this role is leading on the development of programmes and initiatives to address the skills gaps and shortages in the sports' workforce in Cumbria through delivery of the 'Cumbria Sport Workforce Development Plan 2008-2012', whilst the strategic nature of this role ensures that initiatives are aligned with national and regional developments. Working on behalf of Active Cumbria, whilst employed through the University of Cumbria, enhances the delivery of interventions and programmes, whilst continually identifying skills needs in the sector.
