The 2012 School Games is taking place in London between the 6th and 9th May 2012. The location of the event will be at ExCel, Old Loughtonians Hockey Club and Barking RFC on 6-8th May, and at the Olympic Park on Wednesday 9th May 2012. 12 National Governing Bodies of Sport are involved in the event, these are: Athletics, Badminton, Cycling, Fencing, Gymnastics, Hockey, Judo, Rugby Sevens, Swimming, Table Tennis, Volleyball and Wheelchair Basketball. We estimate that around 1657 athletes will participate in this event across the 12 sports and an event of this size will require 400+ volunteers to support the delivery of this event.
Employment basis: Voluntary, however appropriate expenses can be covered by responsible use of the budget.
Budget responsibility: £500
Volleyball England is looking to assign a Young Official Deployment Officer (YODO) in each of it's nine regions, including;
• North East
• North West
• Yorkshire
• East Midlands
• West Midlands
• East Anglia
• London
• South East
• South West
This is an opportunity for somebody to gain some valuable experience as a volunteer and help their local and regional associations provide more structured volleyball to young people. This occurs with the YODO actively recruiting other volunteers to lead our Young Referees Award, who will then start to create a network of tutors and Young Referees nationwide. They will also work with the associations to offer opportunities for the Young Referees to continue to develop their refereeing skills.

On Tuesday 15th May 2012 Workington Leisure Centre will play host to the successful Tata Kids of Steel Event. This is the British Triathlon tool for engaging with schools. The children's events are now in their sixth year, with approximately 800 children due to take part in the event at Workington in May.
This unique series sees the British Triathlon Federation partnering with its long standing sponsor and now Corporate Partner, Tata Steel, in delivering a fun and healthy day for school children between the ages of 8 and 13 complete a mini triathlon.
The event needs a team of around 50 volunteers to help out on the day. Volunteers will be responsible many different key tasks including:
British Triathlon would like to invite you all to volunteer at the event. The date start time is at 8.30am and it will finish at approximately 4pm.
The event has never happened in Cumbria and to make sure that it returns in 2013 it needs to be as successful as possible and without key partners and volunteers, such as yourselves, this won't happen.

Cumberland FA's Girls Player Development Centre is giving local coaches the opportunity to become involved in a National coaching programme through the Girls Talent Development Structure.
The Player Development Centre (PDC), based in Penrith for girls within Cumberland is one of 28 licensed Centres across the country. Trials took place in November to select girls at Under 11, 13 and 15 to follow a 15 week training programme. Training takes place on Monday evenings.
The FA Player Development Centre is part of The FA's player pathway and bridges the gap between grassroots football and The FA Centre of Excellence programme. Players involved in the PDC have been selected from grassroots clubs in Cumberland and continue to play and train with their local clubs in addition to the PDC programme.
Cumberland FA PDC is looking for an enthusiastic coach who would like to get involved in supporting the girls pathway whilst also committing to developing their skills through a varied Continued Professional Development (CPD) programme.
Interested coaches should hold the following minimum qualifications:
The FA Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football
FA Youth Award Module 1
FA Youth Award Module 2 (To be completed as part of individual CPD)
Up to date Emergency Aid and Safe Guarding Children Certificates
Valid FA CRB Check
