Cumbria Football Girls at England Talent Camp

Cumbria Centre of Excellence Girls 2010-11

11th November 2010

Girls from Cumbria Girls Centre of Excellence travelled to Barnoldswick recently to take part in the first phase of The FA Talent Camp. The talent camp is part of The FA's player identification programme for the England women teams and brought together players from Centres across the North West of England. Previously players from Cumbria have attended the camps and have progressed onto England Women training camps and International trips.

The following players from the Centre were selected to represent the county and attended Phase 1 of the Talent Camp:

Under 16's - Sammie McGarry (previously played for England U15s and former Seaton player), Rio Hardy (former Seaton player), Steffi Hardy (former Seaton player), Kate Bloomer (former Barrow Celtic player), Yasmine Swarbrick (former Walney player), Sophie Killip (former Walney player) and Heather Ramsay (former Wattsfield Youth player).
Under 14's - Brodie Vogt (former Ibis player), Emily Hall, Eleanor Maguire (former Barrow Celtic player), Lauren Ullyart (former Yewdale Pegasus player) and Georgia Wilson (former Silloth player)

The girls took part in match play during the day with England scouts in attendance. The standard was very high on the day, with the girls from Cumbria giving a good account of themselves.

Following the first phase, the players will now be hoping for an invitation to attend Phase 2 of the Talent Camps in January which will bring players from the North West and North East of England together.
