Early September saw a event take place at lakes leisure in Ulverston involving over 50 able and disabled children participating in a number of sports over three days. The RFL took this opportunity to deliver some rugby league coaching and give the kids a taste of what rugby league has to offer.
League for all officer Matt Jefferson spend the day coaching rugby to the children and introducing them to touch and tag rugby. 'All of the children seemed to really enjoy themselves and they picked up the game really quickly' said Matt.
This was one of many CAD's events that are planned in the county over the next few years. Hopefully the events will grow and attract more and more participants. There has now been interest for more regular activity of Rugby League to be available for children with disabilities in the county. This is currently being implemented and hopefully will be run at multi sport clubs across the County as is already run at Hoops (Barrow) on a Monday evening from 5-6pm.
