Netball is derived from basketball. It's now the most popular women's participation sport.

As in basketball the game is played on a hard court with scoring rings at both ends, where players score by netting the netball. There are seven players on each team. All have named positions on the court such as wing defence or centre. The netball hoops are smaller and lower than those used in basketball and there are no backboards. The netball court is divided into thirds which regulate where players in each team can move, and two semi-circular shooting shots must be taken.
