Finding the right Sport or Activity thats suits your ABILITIES

When choosing a sport to take part in, our individual choices vary considerably based on sporting ability, likes, dislikes and preferences. For those of us with disabilities, choices need to be made in choosing a sport that fits with our particular abilities.  By following a few simple steps on the Parasport Self Assessment Wizard you will be able to find out which sport is best suited to you.

Finding the right activity environment for you

For disabled people there can be different types of sports clubs and activity settings that each offer a different experience. The important issue is choice and each that person should be able to make an informed decision about which club and sporting environment is correct for them. Disabililty Sport Classification

If you are looking to complete in disability sport events you may wnat to consider your classification. Classification is not unique to disability sport and is simply a structure for competition.  In mainstream sports such as boxing, weightlifting and judo athletes are categorised by weight classes.  In disability sport athletes and players are grouped into classes determined by their degree impairment.  Sport specific classifiers determine that an athlete is eligible and then allocate a sports class.More>>>
