Why Should I Volunteer?
There are many reasons to get involved with a sports club or organisation as a volunteer.
- Meet new people that are interested in the same sport/s or activities as you.
- Gain experience, confidence and new skills that employer's value, such as working as part of a team, problem solving and developing initiative.
- Gain experience of leadership.
- Develop useful contacts which may lead to possible employment opportunities.
- You may find it makes your college, university and/or job application stronger when having a volunteer role on your CV.
How Much Time Do I Have To Give?
This is up to you! Some clubs and community groups would like support for only a couple of hours a week, others may require help for a whole day for a specific event that they are running. We aim to find you a volunteering opportunity that will fit in with your existing time commitments.
Why Should I Offer A Volunteer Placement?
There are a number of benefits to clubs and organisations wishing to support volunteers.
- New members for your club / organisation.
- New people bring new skills.
- a chance to expand what you offer.
- Support to existing overly busy volunteers.
