How can Squash/Racketball improve the quality of your PE Curriculum?
ESR have specific resources, programmes & competition structures that support the development of squash & generic sport skills, linked to the fundamental movement skills of agility, balance & co-ordination. Mini Squash is a fun & exciting programme that fits the needs of younger children & uses specifically adapted equipment which can be used in school halls.
ESR offer to support Physical Education in Primary Schools through the provision of:
Teacher, Leader & Coach educational courses & support. Easy to use resources, programmes & access to specific Mini Squash equipment. A range of inter & intra primary school competitions. A network of school club link and satellite club opportunities for young people. Support from ESR staff, qualified coaches and County Associations to support the work in schools.
Teachers Award – Key Stage 1 & 2. ESR Leaders Award (for 14 plus year olds – ideal for Sports Leaders & BTEC Sports students to lead activities in Primary schools). ESR Level 1 Award in Coaching. Resources Teaching resources & programmes: Mini Squash Cards, Primary School Schemes of Work for Years 1 – 6 (includes development of multi racket as well as sport specific skills), YST School Game Cards. Opportunity to buy or borrow Mini Squash equipment, specifically developed for delivery in school halls. Access to promotional materials. Communication & advertising of events through ESR Regional Newsletters.
Intra & Inter School Festivals & Mini Squash Leagues. Localised school/club delivery framework for School Games Competitions levels 1 – 3. YST School Games Intra School/Level 1 Resource. English U11 Championships (individual competition for English players). National Schools Squash Championships (Under 15 & 19 Team Competition).
Extra-curricular activity – supported by teachers & local squash coaches. A network of ESR affiliated squash clubs & satellite clubs providing a range of playing & volunteering opportunities for all young people. 38 County Associations providing a range of playing & competition opportunities. Direct Support ESR Regional Managers & Administrators, Coaching & Performance department. ESR affiliated clubs & qualified coaches. 38 County Associations
