Lakes leisure, the sport and leisure charitable trust which operates leisure centres in Kendal, Ulverston and Windermere have launched a competition to get youngsters in the area to design a new leisure centre for Kendal…
In the future the trust will be looking to work with key stakeholders including our main partner South Lakeland District Council to discuss ideas for a new leisure facility development which will serve the needs of the local community and its visitors.
It is hoped that the design a leisure centre competition will get youngsters in the area thinking about what they would like from their leisure facilities of the future and also how a new, environmentally friendly centre could look.
The competition is open to ages 5-9, 10-14 and 15-19 until 31st January 2013, with the best entry in each age category winning a brand new mountain bike. Competition entry forms are available from lakes leisure Kendal and will be distributed to local schools in the next few weeks by the lakes leisure Community Development Team.
