Take the MOVE challenge and get physically active during Movember from 1st November to 30th November 2016.
Movember, the month formerly known as ‘November’, launches its 2016 campaign encouraging men and women to sign up and commit to MOVE to raise awareness and funds for men’s health.
The challenge is to MOVE every day of Movember – 30 MOVEs in 30 days. How you MOVE each day is up to you. Whether it’s a workout one day, walking 15 minutes to work the next, a game of table tennis or an epic bike ride, no MOVE is too big or small!
Active Cumbria are challenging you to MOVE as a group and challenge your work colleagues to match your Moves! First, nominate internal leaders to be your Movember champions. Next, get them recruiting! Just sign up at https://uk.movember.com/ and start one big team for your company, or organise into multiple teams for a little friendly competition. Then kick things off at the start of November. Raise funds, share men’s health information, and plan team activities throughout the month.
To be in with a chance of winning a pair of New Balance trainers in the Move Challenge, all you need to do is log your activity on to Sport England’s Workplace Challenge’s Activity Log via www.workplacechallenge.org.uk/Cumbria. The more activity you do, the more points you get for yourself, department and workplace.
The Chief Medical Officer, Professor Dame Sally Davies says, "Even relatively small amounts of exercise can have huge benefits to your health and help prevent serious health conditions like diabetes, cancer and heart disease for example, adults can get their 150 minutes of activity a week in sessions of ten minutes or more”.
