26th October 2011
The RFL are running a Mixed Indoor Touch Rugby League West Cumbria which will start on Wednesday 18th January 2012 and run for ten weeks between January and March.
Squads can be made up of a maximum of 10 players. The games will be 5 a side with unlimited substitutions made. Each team will play 2 x 20 minute games per week and the cost for entry is £20 per week per team which equates to £2 per person.
Touch Rugby League is good for fitness, toning and being active without visiting the gym; it's also a great social game which you can play with your friends.
It's simple and easy to learn, and there is no tackling involved like in the full contact game, a simple touch constitutes as a play the ball so there is minimal risk of injury.
The RFL's League for all Officer said: "Touch Rugby League is a fun and exciting way to stay fit and healthy and is one of the only sports where you can play in mixed teams.
"It's an excellent introduction to the sport for those who have never played Rugby League before and is also a great social occasion."
Each team will enjoy themed weeks and events, administration for the league including fixtures, leagues and team packs, 2 x 20 minute games per week and qualified referees in charge of all matches.
Spaces are limited so it will be first come first served. If you are interested in entering the league please confirm with RFL League for All Officer, Matt on 07775022799 or matt.jefferson@rfl.uk.com . The venue is to be confirmed shortly.
