Safeguarding & Protecting Children – New Resources Available from the CPSU

July 23, 2012

The Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) at the NSPCC provides specific support, guidance and advice to everyone involved in sport on issues relating to safeguarding and protecting children and young people.

The CPSU’s website contains a wealth of information and resources – video clips, good practice guidance, briefing documents and sample policies and procedures – which can be downloaded from the site. The resources include materials which are specifically designed to be used by young people and also information focused on addressing the issue of bullying.

Due to the additional vulnerability which young people with disabilities may face, the CPSU have recently published a briefing paper focused on examining the issue of safeguarding deaf and disabled children in sport. In addition, a multimedia learning resource pack has also been produced which specifically addresses the issues: this is available to purchase from the CPSU.

The CPSU’s newsletter – Relay – published on a quarterly basis and available to download from the site provides a useful insight into the work of the unit and key developments.
