Riversiders United FC in Burnley action

November 15, 2013

Saturday saw Riversiders United FC travelled to Burnley for the first fixture in the Lancashire FA Ability Counts League in the 2013/14 season.

Riversiders started well in their first game v AFC Masters but were their own enemy when missed chances and sloppy defending allowed the opposition to somehow win 4 - 3 with none of the lads or spectators knowing how they had lost.
Re-energised and ready to go again, Riversiders took on a strong Fleetwood side and although taking the lead, the Fleetwood side were too strong coming away with a 5 - 2 victory.
The third game saw them up against Lytham and in a tight game, the opposition scored 3 good goals.  Riversiders managed to get one back and although disappointed were unfortunate not to come away with anything.
In their last game against East Lancs Rangers, the lads strolled into a 2 - 0 lead only to allow the East Lancs team to fight back to a 3 - 2 victory. The lads were disappointed not to of won a game but came away with a lot of positives from the day.

Riversiders United play there next game on the 7 December back down at Burnley and will be looking to get back to winning ways.

Riversiders United FC will be in Asda Foyer on Sunday 17 November 2013 between 10am and 4pm collecting, to help towards their running costs.  Please come down and show your support for Westmorland FA’s Disability football team.
