Go for Gold

2nd December 2011

The theme for this year's UK Day for Older People was, for the second time, 'getting and staying active in later life'. The success of this theme saw the number of local active ageing events increase to over 4,000. Following on from the success of this, the BHFNC will be issuing the Go for Gold Challenge in 2012.

In the New Year those working in residential and social care will be invited to take up the Go for Gold Challenge to increase physical activity levels amongst all those in the sector. July 3rd 2012 will see the Go for Gold Challenge take place across the UK involving games, walking and dance challenges. The Go for Gold Challenge is part of the BHF National Centre's commitment to the London 2012 Olympic Legacy for older people. For more details visit www.active-ageing-events.org.uk
