1st September 2011
The Walk4Life Miles project is inspired by London 2012 - the aim was always to have 2,012 Walk4Life Miles mapped by the start of the Olympic Games - the great news is they have met the target! That doesn't mean they can't have more of course, so please continue to identify miles and to waymark them.
This year's Walk4Life day, in three weeks' time on the 25th Sept, will be celebrating walking, and in particular will be promoting the Walk4Life Miles. There will be national media coverage. It isn't too late to get involved.
What you can do :
Please send us photos of your events, or add them to the walks (but let us know so we can mention them in our publicity).
Find Walk4life miles near you visit www.walk4life.info and search on your postcode.
What will Walk4Life be doing?
• We'll be publicising Walk4Life Day through a variety of means, all events listed on the site will be included in the publicity
• We'll be writing Blogs, and using social media. We can write guest Blogs for your websites
• We have free waymarkers we can send you for your Miles - including a new ground stencil which can be jet-washed through to make so-called 'clean graffiti' for places where signage is tricky. Contact us to order waymarkers.
• If you are running a 1-mile walk for Walk4Life day we can send some "I've walked a mile" stickers and possibly also some T-shirts.
Let's see if we can really get the country walking this year for Walk4life day!
