Cumbria Golf Goes Social

CGP

7th December 2011

GOLFERS in Cumbria can find out about the latest developments in the county by signing up to social media site Twitter.

Cumbria County Golf Partnership development officer Jane Robinson has started 'tweeting' to keep followers up to date with everything from Get into Golf schemes to new plans to help juniors.

Those already registered on Twitter can follow  @Cumbria_Golf

Those new to the Twitter-sphere can join in the fun by using the link - http://twitter.com/#!/Cumbria_Golf

Says Jane Robinson: "It is important that golf reaches out to potential new players, whether that be through the traditional routes at our local golf clubs or by embracing the new technology that is used by so many people to keep in touch."

The Cumbria County  Golf Partnership  is a collaboration of a number of stakeholders in the sport including the English Golf Union, The English Women's Golf Association, the PGA, the Golf Foundation and Sport England.

In Cumbria the partnership is supported by the Cumbria Ladies County Golf Association, the Cumbria Union of Golf Clubs, The Eden Valley Sports Partnership and the PGA North East/West.
