Busy Start to 2014 for Olympic Taekwondo Referee

April 9, 2014

2014 has been a busy year so far for World Taekwondo Federation International Referee, Tom Stammer. So far Tom has travelled to Sweden, Las Vagas, Holland and Taiwan.

In February Tom attended the 2 Day Swedish Open in Trellaborg followed closely by a trip to Las Vages to take part in a 3 Day International Referee Refresher Course and then to officiate at the 2014 US Open Championships over 5 Days in the Las Vagas Hotel & Conference Centre.

March was just as busy with a trip to Eindhoven for the 2 Day Dutch Open and then straight onto Chinese Taipei for the WTF Youth Olympic Games Qualifiers over 2 Days followed by the bi-annual Junior World Championships over 4 Days.

''It has been a busy but exciting start to the year so far. I really enjoy supporting international events as Great Britain's Referee selection, you see the best athletes in the World and some amazing matches''

The rest of the year looks potentially busy too with the Youth Olympic Games in China in August, The World Cadet Championships in Baku and 4 WTF Grand Prix Events in Kazakhstan, China, Mexico and of course the Manchester Grand Prix in October at the Manchester Central Comference Centre.

Whilst Tom wont be attending all these events for Great Britain it is probable that he will be selected for some of them.

Tom is a Taekwondo 6th Dan Master and lives in Sandford Village. He teaches at Appleby on Mondays and in Sandford on Wednesdays if there are any potential Olympians out there or those you want to get to Black Belt in Taekwondo.
