3rd August 2011
A number of 'Ability Counts Activity Days' have recently been delivered at Carlisle United FC. The sessions were organised by Disability Football Development Officer Paul Jennings and delivered in partnership with Carlisle United Football in the Community.
Paul Jennings said "The aim of the programme was to reward individuals and groups for the great work they have done on a number of projects throughout the year as well as promote future disability football opportunities".
Feedback and suggestions for future events was also on the agenda for the events.
Both female and male adults (16+) attended the events, through The Glenmore Trust, The Heathlands Project and People's First. The participants were invited to Carlisle United FC where they had the opportunity to take part in a variety of football activities and play games in the Neil Centre before having the chance to look behind the scenes at Carlisle United FC.
This programme has led to further playing opportunities through the Carlisle United FITC Sportivate Adult (16+) Disability Football sessions that will run throughout the summer across the county. These sessions are going to take place on the following dates:
Cost £1.00 per participant per session
