On the 4th November 2016 we had over 100 delegates from across Cumbria join us in Getting Cumbria Ready, The day focused on the Government’s policy direction on tackling physical inactivity. We learnt about future investment from Sport England and more about the important role that behaviour change, and customer centricity will play moving forward.
Following on from this, on the 20th January 2017 we facilitated a scoping workshop for Sport England’s Active Ageing fund . It was well attended by a wide range of partners and helped to shape what the potential in the county to support Older Adults there is, both from potential bid leaders to deliverers who have great offers to work with this age group. Age UK in Cumbria agreed to take a collective bid forward for Cumbria and announcements for this fund are expected in May.
Presentations were made at the Getting Cumbria Ready conference from the following speakers:
Hannah Bladen - Hannah is Strategic Lead for Local Delivery at Sport England and outlined the new Strategy from Sport England 'Towards an Active Nation 2016 -2021'
Paul Roberts - Paul is an expert in helping organisations to unleash sustainable customer-led growth. He is currently working with Active Cumbria on our approach to customer centricity.
