Volleyball

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams are separated by a raised net. Points are scored when the ball lands on the opponent’s side of the court.

It doesn’t matter how old you are, how fit you are or whether you’re able bodied or disabled. Volleyball is loads of fun and a very social game. It’s the only hi-energy, zero body contact, mixed team sport you can play indoors and outdoors - whatever your ability. Volleyball can enhance your life, improving fitness and coordination.

Why is it good for me?

Volleyball is a great cardiovascular workout, and can help to improve hand eye coordination. It’s also a very sociable game so it’s a great way to make new friends, or catch up with old ones.

How much does it cost?

All you need is a ball and something that can act as a net. If you want to play on a court, or in a club, prices vary.

What equipment do I need?

To get started you just need some comfortable clothes and a pair trainers with good grip, or bare feet for the beach or park.
